After Dr Gerd Keynote, Dr Gerd join the VVIP Tour including visiting Huawei Booth, which display its latest Atlas 950 AI Server or SuperPod with latest NPU Drawer, CPU Drawer and PSU Drawer. The NPU Drawer contain several NPU Chip from Ascend 950DT around 1 PFlops that are comparable to Nvidia H100 0.8 Pflops or H200 1.2 PFlops. Geopolitic Chip Warfare banned from these advanced NVIDIA chip to enter China market, so China made their own GPU and NPU for their market using the Atlas 950 C.
During HK Electronics Fair Media Preview, Bryan Peng, executive director of OASES (Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises) delivered Keynote Speech on how Hong Kong has its strategy to become Center of I & T (Innovation & Technology) International Hub Promoting Emerging Technology in this HKEF Spring focus on AI, Robotics and UAV (Unmanned Aeral Vehicle) commonly known as drone, autonomous or controlled by human drone operator. In order to attaracting strategic Enterprises, OASES with HKSARG ( Hong Kong Special Administration Region Government) or known as HKSAR. Computing Power is important for AI Development and Data Science.
- HKSTP (HK Science and Technology Park) with High Performance Computing. A new 11 hectare at Sandy Ridge in North District with plan of 18,000 petaFLOPS & total investment of US$ 3Bn in 3 years. One Frontier SuperComputer (USA) does 1.2 Exaflops, so it is 150 times more powerful than Frontier Superkomputer or equivalent to 90,000 NVIDIA H100 GPU AI Claster 63MW or $ 3 Bn ( Data Center xAI, Colosaus di AS).
- HK CyberPort AI Supercomputer center with 3,000 petaFlops. Determination of HKSARG as AI Hub with HK Top Universities and attracting 600,000 working visas for high talent in AI to become HK citizen. Combining International Big Data and from Chinese mainland especially in the nearby Guangzhou provinces and Shenzhen as cross border data. Incentive to support companies from startup to scale up to unicorn set up in Hongkong and go to market via Exhibition like the HK Electronics Fair by HKTDC and join conference overseas. HK SRG also support Equity investment for Tech company with a total ofal of HKHKHK$100 Billion.
- Provide $3 Billion AI Funding Scheme for Smart Traffic Fund $20M/ project, Constructions I & T Fund project $10 M/project and many SME Export Marketing Fund
OASES has 102 Strategic Enterprise with over $60B investment and 22,000 job creators. Over 40 companies in AI infrastructure and models as down stream apps. OASES Strategic industries includes Life and Health Tech, Advanced Manufacturing and New Energy Tech, AI & Data Science and Fintech.
Last year OASES set aside US$ 128 Million for HK AI R& D institution. Also provide US$ 383Million for Frontier Technology Research Support Scheme.
