The China Federation of Industrial EconomicsXinhua Net, the Chinese Government News Agency, and China Unicom (a state-owned telecommunications company) jointly organized the 2025 Global Industrial Internet Conference (GIIC) under the theme “Intelligent Manufacturing for New Quality & Digitalization for New Frontiers.”The conference focused on strategies, industries, and technologies, addressing key global issues such as artificial intelligence (AI), critical sectors, and large-scale industries.

The Association of Big Data & AI (ABDI), in collaboration with Indonesian Technology & Innovation (INTI), will host the NextGen AI Summit & Expo 2025 on October 28 and 30, 2025, at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta. This national-scale event will serve as a key forum to strengthen Indonesia’s artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem towards Golden Indonesia 2045.

Carrying the theme:
“AI Infrastructure & Governance, Data Protection, Cyber Security, Data Integrity (SDI), Government Tech (GovTechAI) Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”, the summit will bring together government officials, industry leaders, technology experts, and academia to discuss policies, infrastructure, and strategic innovations for advancing AI in Indonesia.

The opening ceremony was held at an industrial museum in Shenyang, followed by the main sessions at the Hyatt Hotel Auditorium in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province, China. Liaoning, a major industrial hub located in Northeast China, shares borders with North Korea and Russia.

The event highlighted China’s success in leveraging the internet, automation, robotics, and quality control to strengthen its industrial ecosystem, positioning itself as one of the largest industrial powers in the world—surpassing the United States in many sectors. This achievement has also contributed to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on imports from various countries in an effort to reduce the U.S. trade deficit and budget burden.

The conference was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT), leaders from Xinhua News Agency in Beijing, as well as government representatives from Shenyang City and Liaoning Province. It underscored the fact that the industrial internet is a crucial infrastructure for future industrialization trends and a key driver in the development of high-quality products. President Xi Jinping has consistently emphasized the importance of advancing the industrial internet as part of China’s innovation strategy, digital economy growth, and global competitiveness.Shenyang itself plays a strategic role in China’s industrial development, particularly in the defense sector, which has been showcased during the Victory Day military parade in Beijing (September 3), attended by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto alongside President Xi Jinping.

Since 2019, Liaoning Province has hosted the Global Industrial Internet Conference (GIIC). During the first edition, President Xi delivered strong encouragement for greater innovation and industrial internet development. By 2025, the event has been successfully held for six consecutive years, growing into a global platform for intellectual exchange, idea generation, and international cooperation in the field of industrial internet.

GIIC 2025 welcomed leaders and associations from nearly 30 countries, primarily BRICS members, to promote joint global industrial development with China. Despite geopolitical tensions and unilateral trade wars driven by U.S. policies, China has demonstrated its position as a world-class industrial powerhouse.

Indonesia, in contrast, remains heavily dependent on natural resources (SDA) for GDP growth, with a relatively weak industrial and manufacturing sector. Issues such as frequent protests, heavy taxation, and lower competitiveness compared to Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia continue to hinder growth. Therefore, collaboration with China in industrial internet and manufacturing is critical for strengthening Indonesia’s economic foundation.

On this occasion, the Indonesian Big Data & AI Association (ABDI) expressed its gratitude to Xinhua News Agencyand the Liaoning Provincial Government for the opportunity to attend GIIC 2025. ABDI hopes that this conference will pave the way for greater cooperation between Indonesia and China in advancing industrial development. With Indonesia’s position as the world’s fourth-most-populous nation, the largest internet market in Southeast Asia, and a leading exporter of nickel, tin, gold, aluminum, and copper, collaboration with China could significantly strengthen both countries’ roles in the global economy and geopolitics.

Liaoning also carries rich historical significance. Its capital, Shenyang, is home to the Imperial Palace of the Qing Dynasty, which served as the seat of power before the dynasty moved to the Forbidden City in Beijing in 1644, replacing the Ming Dynasty.
